Initial Consultation and Treatment
What to expect at your first visit…
Consultation
Detailed record of current concerns and and history of previous conditions.
Assessment
Comprehensive assessment of symptoms and physical examination including orthopaedic and neurological testing.
Treatment
Results of the assessment and a treatment plan will be discussed. You will be given information on what to expect from the treatment, and aftercare advice to optimise the treatment and aid recovery.
Your first appointment includes the consultation, assessment and first treatment
The frequency and number of treatments depend on many factors including age, extent and duration of injury, general fitness and posture. We ensure that you are clear and comfortable with what to expect, and how best to help yourself after the treatment. As a guide, you will have three treatments (40mins appointment time) before a reassessment of progress.
If it is felt that you cannot be treated within the clinic, you will be referred to your GP or appropriate specialist.
Maintenance check-ups are encouraged. These can be as required or on a fixed basis. Some patients prefer more frequent check-ups to relieve pain, improve mobility and maintain health.
